my life is Yours

James 4:14

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
I received a poem from a friend just now, and it sure reminds me that we are just a small ash in this world, whatever we do here is just temporary, We Are Not Home Yet! and we never know when God will call us, so for sure I really hope that I can live my life here as useful as God wants me to be.

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They’d laugh at me I’d fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
“Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down…
But never found the time”

Have a blessed lent season to all my friends =)

Morning all!

well, I was just about to go out to buy lunch downstairs, quite in a hurry, had a quick scan to my laptop monitor, and noticed that there was a message coming to my inbox. It’s a daily word of God my friend sent to me. I grab my purse with my left arm and my eyes to the screen, and with a glimpse read the title of God’s phrase today, Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

Ok! I’ve got to read this. I sat down and felt that for the last few days He has been talking to me through my friends. Here’s the short article.

Do you have a problem believing that the moment a sinner receives Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he is saved? You might say, “No” to this!

Let me then ask you which is harder for God (though in reality, we know that nothing is hard for God): To save a soul from hell or heal a sick body? Of course, it is “harder” to save a soul from hell because God had to send His Son to the cross.

So if God has already given you the greatest miracle that you can ever receive, which is to pluck you out of the clutches of eternal damnation and give you eternal life, what is healing your body, saving your marriage, turning your rebellious teenage son around or giving you that business deal to Him?

Therefore, don’t think that when you come to God with a headache, He says, “No problem,” but should you come to Him with cancer, He says, “Cancer? Wow! Not that easy. This is more problematic. I will need more power!”

No! It may appear more difficult to us, but with God, nothing is too hard for Him because He says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

This was indeed the case for a church member who was suffering from ovarian cancer. After I had prayed for her, I told her, “This cancer is not a problem for God. Just believe that when God said that nothing is too hard for Him, it is so!” In a matter of weeks, she came back with tears in her eyes, testifying that she went back to the doctor and he pronounced her healed after he could find no traces of cancer in her.

Beloved, if it is a miracle you need, it is a miracle you will get. God has already given you the greatest miracle of eternal life, so why would He not give you all the other lesser miracles? (source: T.K)

Thank You Lord for touching my heart today, during my rush hours, I still can receive peacefulness through Your words.

I have no doubt now that all I asked to Him through prayers will be answered in a beautiful time. I will wait. I will faithfully wait.
Off now! my lunch is waiting 🙂

Thanks Ted, for the refreshing email 🙂 GBU as always.

I will follow…

I have been through this situations before! over and over… however this constant ‘worrying’ is always haunting me while i know that God’s help will come in no time when I need it.. I am now fighting between my feeling of breaking down and my believe that holding on to God is the only way out. Yes, it’s like being dragged into massive confusion.

When I pray, I could not hear Him anymore…  Oh, no! I am LOST!

every night before we all sleep, my daughter would kiss me and say “Good nite mom, May God bless you, and May St.Mary watch over you!”
very sweet to my ear, but not only that! It actually has been the strongest prayer from her for me, so I could really get a good and peaceful sleep. Yes, I need that dear! I do hope Holy Mary watch over me, every day and night, and so I could feel her touch and see her beautiful smile again.

Hold my hand, Lord!

Have me in Your wonderful plan,

I will follow…

Does God learn math?

I was reading this ‘Faith, Hope, and Our Catholic Charities’ book circulated by Caritas Singapore Community Council, and astonished by the many support groups and charity institutions under their umbrella. It explains in deep of what charitable giving is, how they reach out the elderly and the needy, and how a life is without LOVE.

It actually isn’t just about financial donations, but to make others feel existed and loved meant so much in this life.
Ok, reading about how people could live with very low income, makes me think that God doesn’t learn so much MATHS. Or, perhaps, I cannot understand His maths?

I still remember few years back, when we only had one child. I thought our earnings was above the average to those in the same field. Yes we could enjoy a good life ~ good holidays, comfortable living where we could have a nice dine out every weekend, and so much more.
However, not much left for savings.. Then we thought to postpone having second child until we really ready ~ financially. Years gone by and life was just the same with this quite boring routines. My daughter seemed lonely and wanted a friend at home.

“how are we going to do this?” living in Singapore, having 2kids, oh I’ve got to work too then! “who will take care of the kids if I work?”, my heart has been broken only to think that I have to leave my babies to someone else..

However, this sounding in my heart keep pushing for me to go on with my life with no worries.

Then, we had our second baby.
Yeah, it’s now been almost 2years since I gave the second birth, and look at us now, we’re still here! Are we financially ready? I don’t think.
In fact, from the recession years back, our earnings now is so much lesser compared with the previous years.
We now have a P1 child who needs more courses, a toddler who is still on diapers, plus, I still can take care of my children myself…
When I look at our balance sheet, it should have been a loss by now, but God’s blessings offset the calculations. How does He do that?

I believe God works to those needy are very powerful.

It comes back to how to make others feel existed and loved meant so much in this life. How many times do I see wealthy people dying for love..
How many times I feel very joyful when I felt welcomed by any group..  to be sheltered by LOVE, that’s how I always want to live my life, and I am sure you will have that feeling too..

Let’s spread our LOVE and share our joy to others, that is to ANYONE with no exception, to those who never write to you, to those who might have ignored you, to those who might have hurt you, ..

let’s begin our day with a SMILE,
and include Jesus for anything we do

heal us Lord

I’ve always enjoyed the homily given at St.Anne.. last saturday Fr.Yeo, again, helped me to open my eyes and see that how true it is that the hardest thing we’ve encountered in life which could drive us away from God is ‘temptation’.

He also mentioned the three common temptations we face in our life,

Firstly, the PEOPLE around us. The people we “choose” to meet and hang out with. I agree that we take the full responsibility of what we do, not to blame on the environment out there, but we’ve been given ‘senses’ and ‘heart’ to choose the options of ‘good and bad’.
I sometime think that it is a challenge too actually for us to step into the crowd which clearly will lead us to sin, well, with a hope that I could pull them out from such habits. Yes, I did try! However, I can’t deny that I easily be drowned and not able to find my way back.
..and as always, God finds me back..

Secondly, the PLACE that we ‘choose’ to go to. I think it’s very obvious and I won’t say much about it. I am just glad that He have never left me alone.. and I believe for whatever I have done, His very own angels were always with me.. whispering.. knocking.. and guiding me all along.

Thirdly, the POSSESSION. What do I possess in this world? Not Much!! However, indeed could lead me to bigger sins each day. The very simple example would be, how many hours am I  in front of my computer each day…  how many times this media could transform my beautiful morning into a whole day hazardous dramas.. those angers.. cynical attitude… how many times I enjoy forwarding those silly emails compared to daily faith sharing or bible phrase sent to my inbox…?

In this season of lent, hope we will be able to drive off all our insincerity and to use our precious life only to live in Your ways.

Heal us Lord, forgive our sins,
and lead us all into Your glorious ways

Thank You Jesus

I am touched with what happened just now! well, I was trying to put my toddler into a nap, but turned out he occupied himself with a book he chosed himself from the shelf. It is a prayer book I get as a gift from my friend a year ago. That book brings powerful miracles in my life.
I love the words and pictures inside it too!

Ok, back to my 20months old boy! He was on the bed, sort of laying down and sucking his half-full milk bottle, and turning the prayer book page by page. Then, there is the picture of Holy Mary with her hand holding the rosary. He looked at me, pointed at the picture, and babbled some baby language “da da da da da? eee da da da da.”(nodded his head and smiled). He was on that page for few minutes, and turned the page again.
He stopped again on the page of rosary prayer, looked at it as he could read, looked at me and pointed to the image of Jesus at His last supper. And babbled the same thing.

Until now I am still thinking what actually he was saying. .. but for sure I know, that he could recognize the people in the pictures as the greatest people who will always love him so much.

Jesus, thank You for stopping by today!

I offer my life

What can we give, that You have not given
And what do we have, That is not already Yours
All we possess, All these lives we’re living
That’s what we give, to You Lord…

(source: Don Moen, I offer My Life)

get closer to the season of Lent, I keep asking myself of what I can give to our Lord..
what sacrifice I could offer to Him as a reward for giving me so much blessings in my life

remembering Your sorrows and bearing the cross to Golgotha,
always shows abundant treasures and never ending love You’ve given us..

I know I would do the same as the past years.. the forty-days of fasting.. cutting-off those luxury spendings.. restraining anger..
and I know that all of those would never be the same or even close to all sacrifices You’ve done for us! .. nothing will ever could.

However, oh Lord, please shine upon me, .. choose me, heal me, and use me to spread Your Love to others,
let me serve You more, and let me walk together with You bearing the cross.
