A wisdom notes I receive from a friend, “Remission because of love will lead to establishment of true brotherhood, but
revenge because of the hatred will kindle the eternal enmity.”(EB)

Forgiveness, it’s a simply meaningful however has been a big word for me.
Few years ago this word was an obstacle for me which separate me from God. I refused to pray “Our Father” at church solely because I still had this hatred haunting me. So many years, especially in Christmas and Easter, I had been reminded to takeoff my proud robe and bitterness in life, ask Forgiveness from our God, and to start a ‘brand new me’. It was hard to comprehend.

I struggled for many years. I was in pain…the heavy burdens. I prayed to God, “Please God help me to Forgive and Forget”.. He has always been great and accompany me through those years, He used my family and friends to touch my heart and enlighten my life. Until one afternoon I shed my tears in an adoration room at my daughter’s school. I saw few people praying and they looked worn-out and tired. One aged man came in and kneeled and smiled to the tabernacle and looked so happy and peaceful. I was touched by this man, and I prayed to God “Yes, God, please take away all my burdens, I wish to take them off, I want peace in life” Yes, I decided to to forgive and forget and let God washed away my past bitterness in life. And that became a wonderful Easter gift God presented to me.

Matthew 18:21-22

21Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

22Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

God wants us to learn the wisdom, He always gives us options to choose, and for whatever decision we take, He will not leave us, He is faithful. He wants us to forgive, as our Father in heaven forgives our sins.

Let us pray the Our Father prayer now with smile and feel the peace in our heart, and hope that God will heal us from any wounds.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4
